Original Name
BEP ICEF - Home Equipment Installer & Advisor
Specialization: Audiovisual Electronics & Antennas
Current Name
BEP SN - Digital Systems
Specialization: Audiovisual, Network and Home Equipment (ARED)
The BEP ICEF, established by decree on September 27, 1995, was progressively replaced through successive education reforms. The former ICEF Audiovisual Electronics & Antennas track first evolved into the BEP SEID (Industrial and Domestic Electronic Systems), before being integrated into the BEP SN (Digital Systems). Since June 2021, the BEP has been transformed into an intermediate achievement certificate within the Bac Pro curriculum, confirming the historical nature of the ICEF diploma as a standalone certification.
Lycee Professionnel Philadelphe de Gerde is a public vocational high school under the French Ministry of Education, located in Pessac (Gironde), within the Bordeaux Academy. Founded on February 16, 1976, it specializes in technical trades, energy, and customer relations. The school is named after Philadelphe de Gerde (pseudonym of Claude Duclos, 1871-1952), a poetess who wrote in the Occitan language. Certified as a "School of Responsible Economy and Digital & Energy Transition Trades," it offers vocational certificates (CAP), professional baccalaureates, and specialized certifications in electrical engineering, networks, energy, and commerce. The campus features a co-ed boarding school, a dining hall, and accessible facilities for students with reduced mobility. As a member of the "Maintenance in Sensitive Environments" skills campus, the school prepares students for both direct professional integration and further studies.

The BEP ICEF offered a dual-dimension vocational training: technical and commercial. Students developed operational skills through hands-on scenarios - real-world audiovisual equipment installation, antenna system connections, fault diagnosis, and customer advisory. The Audiovisual Electronics & Antennas specialization trained technicians capable of working across the entire domestic audiovisual reception chain, from the antenna to the television set. A mandatory 8-week work placement in professional settings (after-sales services, specialized stores, installation companies) provided direct immersion in the workplace, allowing students to apply their technical and interpersonal skills in the field.
